Raksha Bandhan 2009- wishes, greetings

The basic meaning of ‘Raksha Bhandhan‘ is the Kont of Protection, It is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated across Indian. There is a long history behind this festival, it is claimed that Raksha Bandhan came into origin about 6000 years back when Aryans created first civilization - The Indus Valley Civilization.

As India is a land of many languages and cultures, the traditional method to Rakhi festival celebration differs from place to place across India. Now a days when the world is under a constant threat of terrorism this traditional festival turns out to be of a significant importance.

It is also a celebration of friendship, it helps reboot the old friendship and also help rebuilt the confusions and gaps between old friends,family members as well as neighbors.

Though it is by and large a Hindu festival but Rashka bandhan never allowed restriction, it is a free festival for any cast, religion or country, for example the oldest reference of rakhi which was celebrated way back in 300 BC when Indian King Puru accepted King Alexander’s(from Macedonia) wife as his sister through raksha bandhan.

It’s simple, just go and tie a rakhi (decorated wrist band) on the hand of a unknown person and make him/her a friend of yours. To be precise through raksha bandhan brothers takes oath to protect their sisters and sisters prays to god for safety and well being of their brothers.
